DRC - Dental Health Care

Partner: Service Medical, Diocese of Aru (2008 - 2011)

The aim of this project is to enable the community to understand the importance of dental care, in particular for their children, and to have access to appropriate dental care at an affordable price.

Project activities include:
- Organizing meetings with the teachers at schools to discuss the appropriate strategy for the particular school, and to assess the knowledge and interest of the teachers themselves
- Dental education and consultations will be undertaken in 42 schools in the area during the school terms
- The provision of a sufficient quantity of the necessary dental materials for the consultations and treatment of the primary school children
- Regular follow-up and evaluation of all activities, with discussions with parents and the teachers in the 42 schools
